🏡 14 community organisations collaborated
👨👩👧👦 255 people directly involved
🌿 300 visitors to the space
Working together
This project was made possible through true community collaboration.
We we collaborated with:
🌱 Coleg Y Cymoedd with Carol Fatkin and her team and students to design, measure and make items for the sensory garden (including the lovely bughouse!)
🌿 C&M pressure washing service who cleaned our garden area for us for free.
🌱 Volunteers - who helped prep areas, paint and tidy the area.
🌿Volunteers from Network Rail who came and put everything together for us, thanks to Jill from Business in the Community who helped to arrange the day.
🌱 Donations from community members, including the greenhouse, planters, windmills and soil.
🌿 Mens Shed who made our lovely bird house. .
🌱 Caerphilly Garden centre so their generous discounts and donations.
🌿Woodland Walk for their generous discount. .
🌱 Garden plants South Wales for their generous discount (absolutely love that citrus tree!)
🌿 Nature by the Taff for their lovely donation of plants. .
🌱 Families & schools who have enjoyed the space and planted their own plants and flowers to take home to grow.
This has been a shared effort from start to finish.
The difference it’s making
The garden is now a calm, welcoming space where children and families - particularly those with additional learning needs - can explore, connect and simply enjoy being outdoors.
It’s used daily for sessions, visits and even as a quiet space for staff wellbeing 🌿
Thank you
A huge thank you to the Bupa Foundation, Groundwork, and everyone who played a part in bringing this space to life.
