Funded After School Sessions
These sessions offer children the opportunity to play in our lovely role play village, and undertake a range of different activities, such as: arts, crafts, music and singing activities, cake decorating, pizza making, smoothie making, film evenings and school support sessions.
We will also provide the children with a small meal as a part of their session. The sessions will cost £5 per family (up to two children), additional spaces can be booked for any further children.
Limited to 10 family spaces only so it won’t be overcrowded at any time.

Funded Summer Holiday Sessions
These sessions are funded by the Welsh Government to help bring down the cost of activities for families over the summer holidays.
You will be asked to fill in some questionnaires due to feedback required from funders & more importantly so we know how you're enjoying our sessions!

Minecraft Session
This is limited to 12 children only for the Minecraft Workshop (one hour session) but younger children are still able to book onto our role play sessions for 90-2 hours.
Older children doing the Minecraft sessions can join younger siblings after the hour session but please be mindful of the younger children in the session.
If you have two children - one doing Minecraft and one playing - please book both on separately. Or use the 'Family Ticket'.

Family Cookery - Cheesecakes
Join us for a lovely summer cookery session, suitable for all the family to enjoy!
We will be measuring ingredients to make delicious cheesecakes. UNFORTUNATELY WE CANNOT CATER FOR ANY ALLERGIES IN THIS SESSION.
All ingredients will be provided along with a container & a box to take the cheesecakes home.
The session is just £12 per chef ( ingredients supplied to make one small cheesecake).
This session also includes Play in our fantastic role play village.

Join us for a special session at our Role Play Centre as part of the Child Poverty Strategy – Lived Experience Engagement Exercise. These sessions are designed to gather feedback from families on Cost of Living and Child Poverty – your experiences will help inform and influence Welsh Government strategy.

Family Cookery - Pizza (Make
Join us for a lovely session, suitable for all the family to enjoy. We will be making pizza dough from scratch. You can then enjoy our fabulous Role Play Village whilst your dough is rising. There will then be time to top your Pizza with a variety of delicious toppings before taking home to bake.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT CATER FOR ANY ALLERGIES IN THIS SESSION.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT THE PIZZAS WILL NOT BE COOKED DURING THIS SESSION. HOWEVER FULL INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE PROVIDED TO ENABLE YOU TO FRESHLY BAKE YOUR DELICIOUS PIZZA AT HOME.
The session is just £12 per chef which includes all ingredients plus a Box to take your pizza home.

This session consists of a sensory music and movement session, with the fantastic Mini Movement for the first 45 mins to an hour of the session!
There will also be sensory lights around the centre and children can play in the role play rooms towards the end of the session too.

Robot Reg - Phonic session
A 45-minute special, beach-themed Phonics with Robot Reg class with an hour and a quarter play session in Role Play Lane! The perfect way to spend a Sunday morning with your little ones!

Funded ALN Drumming Session
We welcome back Dan Phelps Music for a funded ALN drumming session on the 19th July
There will be sensory lights around the centre and children can play in the role play rooms too.

Funded Baby & Toddler Parental Sessions
Our parents and baby/toddler group is a friendly, non-judgemental group where you can meet and chat about the struggles and juggles of parenthood!
These sessions are just £4 and includes free tea and toast thanks to funding from Round Table.
You will be able to use some of our lovely role play village role play areas, as well as our lovely baby and toddler sensory toys in the middle area. We will be asking speakers to attend some sessions to offer guidance and support.
You will be asked to fill in some questionnaires to help us provide feedback to our funders.

Funded Music & Movement
Music and Movement is a super fun way to improve your children's fine and gross motor skills!
The activity will last approximately 30 minutes towards the end of the session - they will be able to explore the vocational rooms at the beginning, and enjoy a snack in the cafe area during the session also.

Join us for a lovely cookery session, where we will be making delicious cupcakes! Yummy!

Minecraft at Role Play Lane!
Join us for a fantastic Minecraft session with Tom from Brainstorm Education! Tom provides all the tablets/Ipads and challenges so just bring yourselves along for the fun!

Half Term at Role Play Lane!

Gardening Session with Stiwdio37
Join us for a whole family gardening session in collaboration with Stiwdio 37, making a wooden item for the garden!
We will use potting and planting to measure of amounts of soil needed for pots and when planting seeds. You will be able to create an artistic measuring device, so you can measure how tall your plants grow! You can then send pictures of your growing plants to us as part of our competition to win free entry!
This has been funded through the 'Bupa Foundation Green Community Grants programme' so is just £6! Spaces are restricted to 12 families only so it won't be over crowded and includes play in Role Play Lane!

We have the Sunshine Support Group in with us to offer support and guidance whilst your children play in our lovely role play village.
The Cuppa & Chat is free to attend and include teas, coffees, and other refreshments.

Carers Events
These sessions are for carers and their families. You will need a password to book these, so please contact us.
A description of the events can be found here:
Cookery sessions for 10 unpaid carers and the people they look after/families - provided by the centre staff to create a snack or meal you can take home, plus play in the role play centre! Making healthy delicious meals, whilst cooking on a budget.
Craft sessions for 12 unpaid carers – with Nature’s Printmaker, Craft with Me Molly Bee or the centre staff – bespoke craft/art session for wellbeing plus play for children.
Film & Pizza night for 10 unpaid carers and people they look after/families. Staff at the centre will cook families pizza in our new pizza oven and provide refreshments and a film using our projector and screen. Younger children can play in some of the role play rooms (except the cafe and the shop where the screen and laptop are).
Family Fun Evenings for 10 carers, families and young carers – which will include a combination of a quizzes, bingo, karaoke or fun games evenings.

Children's Yoga with Dee
Nose To Toes Children's Yoga with Dee at Heol Chwarae Rol - Role Play Lane! 6-7pm.
Your child can now enjoy the benefits of yoga, movement, games and sensory fun whilst making friends and learning skills to help them relax and regulate their emotions at Role Play Lane.
What to expect:
Yoga sessions suitable for 5 -7 year old boys and girls
An hour of yoga fun, 6pm-7pm
All mats and resources provided
Yoga movement through stories, songs and music
Games, challenges and partner yoga
Breathing techniques
Relaxation to end each session, promoting restful sleep
Free posters and props to support learning
Drop off or wait and enjoy a cuppa
Your child will be cared for and taught by Dee, a qualified and experienced primary school teacher and baby, toddler and children's yoga instructor.
Booking required in advance as spaces are limited to maximise comfort during sessions.

Music and Movement

Adults will be asked to encourage their children to take part in the music, movement and games, and whilst the children are enjoying the role play rooms, adults can enjoy our lovely James Gourmet coffee!
This session is funded by the Welsh Government and includes a snack for your child with the entry cost.
You will be asked to fill in some questionnaires due to feedback required from funders.

ALN Session
Funded ALN Session - Just £5 thanks to funding from Welsh Government. There are limited numbers, calm music and soft lighting, as well as our sensory items and lights.

Halloween party & disco
This is our main event and always great fun, join us for a Halloween scavenger hunt, cupcake decorating, spooky sensory and craft room, Halloween disco and of course role play in our lovely role play rooms which will be decorated for Halloween. All children will also get a hotdog included in the ticket price and a small gift to take home.
We would love to see everyone's best non scary Halloween costumes so dress up is very welcome.

ALN DRumming workshop
This session will incorporate an African drumming workshop with the fantastic Dan Phelps for the first 45 mins to an hour of the session and is just £4 with thanks to funding from The Welsh Government. (You will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire after the session, so we can feed back to our funders).
Dan's workshops support and encourage children to work towards an exciting and memorable performance involving a variety of rhythmic parts and ostinatos.
Children will get hands-on experience of using traditional African instruments such as Djembe drums, a Djun Djun (African bass drum), Ghana bells and Shekere shakers.
It will be a relaxed session so no pressure on the children to play the drums. There will be sensory lights around the centre and they can play in the role play rooms towards the end of the session too.

Beginners Sewing Course
This course is for beginners - Sue will teach you how to thread a machine and make some items over the course of 6 weeks.

There will be a small fee of £4 but this will include a free cup of tea!

Funded Cookery Sessions
Join us for some lovely cookery sessions. These are for all the family to enjoy - we will be making dishes from scratch, using maths skills such as weighing, mixing ingredients together and then cooking them...plus play in our lovely role play village will be included too! (UNFORTUNATELY WE CANNOT CATER FOR ANY ALLERGIES IN THIS SESSION).
This session is just £5 thanks to funding from Multiply! You will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire after your session, which will help us to report back and for gaining funding for future sessions, keeping costs down for our community.
